Welcome to the Nanaimo Lighthouse Ministries Virtual Seafarer's Centre
We are a ministry to the seafarers who visit the ports of Nanaimo, Duke Point, Harmac Pacific (pulp mill), and Mosaic Forest Products log export. Our ministry is to present the Good News of Jesus Christ to seafarers of all nations, to encourage believers in their walk and their witness, and to offer practical help while the seafarers are at our docks.
Restoration: The action of returning something to a former owner, place, or condition.
Christianity is all about restoration; returning all of God’s creation to what He intended from the beginning.
“You are worthy, O Lord our God, to receive glory and honour and power. For you created all things, and they exist because you created what you pleased” Revelation 4:11.
The Bible begins with God’s perfect creation and then reveals the fall of Adam and Eve where shame, fear, guilt, and sin entered the world, and Satan stole our glory. Ever since then humanity has been on the pathway to eternal hell, but God, in His wisdom and grace, has provided a way for us to be returned to our former owner (God), place (paradise), and condition (holiness).
This website is about that process of restoring sinful humanity back to God’s initial plan.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. I will be found by you,” says the Lord” Jeremiah 29:11-14.
Our prayer is that you will open your understanding and allow us to show you the true pathway to God’s eternal Kingdom as outlined in His Word. God, as creator of all things, has outlined His plan for Salvation on His terms, not ours, or any church, or denomination, or belief.
We pray that you will be blessed, and transformed, though the presentation of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
“Don’t copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect” Romans 12:2.
